The owner left the space unused for years as pounds of dust collected on sunbleached boxes of Exlax and old world remedies like Dragon's milk. Then some of his very likeable tenants finally bugged him into turning the place over to them. They cleaned it up and dusted off the old bottles of tonic. Now, you can see the beautiful original mantel and antique jukebox with records. It's very relaxing to visit the 1950s decor and examine these lost trinkets. We're not sure if a soda fountain can support itself in this day and age, but the tasty $1.50 chocolate cake gives Sweet Melissa's and the Chocolate Room a run for its money. We're looking forward to seeing what comes of this place.

Calling All Orphaned Writers: Kings County Literary Journal Publishes Novel Excerpts
Some chick in Brooklyn has found a home for you. The view might not be as nice. Sure, there's no doorman and the commute is a bitch, but at least the people will have their say in this new Brooklyn-based literary journal. Who knows, maybe you'll be living the high life again soon enough. Till then, we look forward to some free literature that gives us a laugh.
